Stone of Hope
This piece was birthed out of a desperate cry for renewed hope. A season of needing truth to rise up and declare hope as unwavering and immoveable. On my trip to Washington DC last fall, one of my favorite places was the MLK memorial. An inspiring memorial with perfectly planned sculptures, positioning and quotes. One of which was "Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope." This phrase has been imprinted on my soul, giving flight to restored hope. There are many layers of meaning and parallels that I could offer.... yet my heart was to create a piece that would evoke emotions of the struggle and hope. To inspire and invite people into their own dialogue...
